Flat Renovation in Haymarket, Edinburgh

This client contacted us through a recommendation. The client asked Jack to meet at the apartment to discuss how to make it saleable without overspending. As an expert in restoration, Jack advised renovating the kitchen, repairing the bath panel, replacing the flooring in the hall and kitchen, and repainting the entire flat.

The kitchen faced several issues: damaged countertops, worn-out cabinet fronts, an aged wooden table, old, unattractive tiles, and a corroded washing machine. All these required repairs and a fresh spray paint job. We also suggested replacing the door handles with black ones to enhance the contrast.

Replacing Household Appliances

The appliances hadn’t been upgraded since the apartment was first built. Imagine the condition they were in! We replaced everything—the hood, electric hob, and sink—and restored the washing machine with a spray paint treatment.

Worktop Restoration

The kitchen worktop was significantly damaged, showing water damage near the sink, peeling laminate, and rotting woodchip. It was essential to replace the section of the countertop along the sink. Filling and spray painting it with Mid Grey and Spray Granite flakes created a unique effect, giving the countertop a brand-new appearance. An additional benefit was the fact that the joints of the worktop were no longer visible, which is an impressive visual effect.

LVT Floor Installation

Given that we used a grey colour for the kitchen countertop, the client chose a Cool Grey floor – Lifestyle SPC 5mm Rigid Core Vinyl Flooring. As the area we were covering was not extensive, we decided against using quarter rounds at the floor edges and instead used grey silicone, ensuring the floor blended in seamlessly.
